June 2025

Work Has finally begun on JD getting her ready for her new Dan Air Livery.
The scaffolding was erected early this week in time for a glorious sunny Saturday.
The top of the Fuselage was sanded to remove dirt and corrosion before the first
coat of etch primer was applied.
July 2025

The Painting of JD hit on obstacle this 'the heat' it was just too hot and
the paint was drying on the rollers before it even got to the fuselage, but do
not worry she will soon be wearing her new Dan Air colours.
Although work was started to sandblast and repaint the trestles under JD.
The good weather was not wasted though as the Prince got some well
deserved attention, repairing a roof vent and sealing it to prevent leaks.
G-SEXY also had a little love getting her ready for her replacement prop we
have managed to source after the old one was stolen.
Finally managed to get the gloss on top of Jd Before the scaffolding came
down.
August 2025

Pretty quiet month consisting of bouts of painting as and when the weather permitted. Some other general maintainance and cleaning of our aircraft. The steps up into G-JMAC were in need of a repair so this was taken care of.
September 2025

Work on the Port side of JD is progressing well, she is really starting to come alive with her new colours. We also had a little break from the norm while a Polish memorial weekend took place in memory of the Polish pilots stationed at Speke during WW2, such a shame about the weather.
Our new online webshop has opened selling SpekeAero merch and other aviation related products.
October 2025

Work Continues on JD and her starboard side shining like a new pin, she was also given her identity back during a break in the weather.
November 2025

Work started to make the Fire Engine ready to accept visitors, this entailed making seat backs to fill the gaps were Breathing Tanks would normally sit and making it a little more exciting for young and old a like with the addition of new blue strobes and a siren.
Our 748 is coming along with the addition of her first Dan Air logo, expertly applied by our Roy. With thanks to Dave Ferrington for the fantastic stencils. Lighting work continues to progress on our little Prince, cant wait to see her fully illuminated.
December 2025

Fire engine completed its time to get the container workable with new led lighting installed (workshop and crew room next). Theres nothing like a little advertising so a bit of branding has been added in the form of a Banner and SAHG flag now flying high above the containers. In the Prince news we have started to install her seating, and very comfy it is too.
January 2026

We Have hit the ground running straight after Christmas, the new lighting has
been completed. Work started making and applying patches were needed on
JD and the Prince. The Prince Cockpit seats are finally in place and just need
some final fixing. JD is having her landing gear doors refitted and we finally
have a new banner up outside the hotel.
